Why an entomologist?

People often ask why I became an entomologist. I've always been fascinated with insects and other arthropods so I guess it was maybe inevitable. How can you look and truly see the insect world and not be blown away by the beauty and complexity that you see there? This video captures pollinators- look at the wonder of the natural world. Enjoy.

This is wonderful! Thank you so much for sharing! And we are all entomologists, or we should be. Thank you for connecting to our lives, because it is so important.

sweet video!

also, how do squash vine borer adults find the squash vines? do they just happen to stumble upon them or do they have some type of 'homing beacon' so to speak?

Katina- insects use smells, color, shapes, etc. to locate host plants.
